Models Direct Blog

Welcome to the Models Direct Blog

The modelling industry can appear daunting to someone just starting out. Whether you are considering becoming a model yourself or whether you think your spouse or child would be suitable, there is a lot of information out there. The Models Direct and Talent Management teams simplify the learning process and post modelling jobs clearly and regularly on our website so that you know exactly what is available, where it is, and if you are suitable.

"Theo had a great day modelling for the new Pampers 'poo face' advert.  Theo had to take part in some filming and some still shots to enable the director to put together the commercial.  This was great experience for Theo as it has got him use to lots of people, big lights and generally everything that goes on whilst being in front of the camera!  I chose to sign Theo up to Talent Management to get some great experience being a model and I hope that Theo will be offered more modelling roles to continue putting a great portfolio together for future job opportunities. I would recommend anyone to put there baby forward for modelling - I think it's great fun and very good for your baby's development :-). Thank you Talent Management!!"

Fight the Winter Blues with Models Direct

Fighting off the Winter Blues

It's not unusual for people to get a bit down during the winter. The team at Models Direct had a quick brainstorm and came up with a few things that help them get through the wind and rain without getting overly down.

Setting aside an evening, or even an hour, a week that you can pamper yourself in will really make a huge difference to your general state of mind.

Take a bath with some nice oils, light some candles, dye your hair, paint your nails and luxuriate in making yourself look and feel as good as possible. No one feels their best if they spend every evening with their hair scraped back under a huge jumper on the couch.

Give your house a bit of a revamp and make it a cosy place to spend time. Buy a few new cushions for the sofa, add some candles to your mantelpiece that you can light and create a cosy atmosphere.

Change some of the pictures on your walls, or put up those pictures you forgot about over the summer. When the days are dark by 16:00 you really need to make your home somewhere you love spending time.

We hope you had an idea or two from this post, visit Models Direct to find out more about modelling and watch the video below!

Male Beauty Tips from Models Direct

Models Direct Make Up Tips for Men!

Models Direct are leaders in Europe when it comes to talent and modelling jobs. Here are some tips for men who want to improve their look and take a little better care of themselves!

Dry and flaky lips detract from your appearance but you can fix them with a simple alteration to your skin care routine. Use the model’s method for exfoliating lips and then follow up by wearing a lip balm in the evening. It is good to one in your pocket to use whenever they feel dry. Want to be more adventurous? You might like a tinted lip balm when male modelling. Lip balms for men have a more natural colour to them so you can add a little visual interest while still treating your lips.

Enhancing your eyes is an easy way to give your appearance a lift. You can actually wear eye makeup to make eyelashes will appear thicker and darker. One option is to use clear mascara which comes in a tube and goes on the tips of your eyelashes. The clear gloss makes your eyelashes look darker than they really are.

The advantage of clear mascara in for men is that you never having to worry about it smudging it. If you have very light hair sometimes your eyelashes are also very light. If you want to bring them out more than you can with clear mascara then try brown mascara. This will add volume to your eye lashes and accent your best feature for your modelling shoot. Clean away the Calories with Models Direct

models direct
Models Direct
Burning a few calories can be a great boost for self-esteem and morale. Models Direct know that it doesn't always have to be difficult to do either. The average female requires 1500-2000 calories per day to stay healthy and there’s no reason to starve yourself trying to get a perfect female modelling figure. Keeping active and avoiding saturated fats whilst keeping to five-a-day or more will work wonders for your body and mind.

Spend a lot of time on the phone? If you are constantly being called by modelling agencies for new jobs then get away from your desk or sofa and walk around the house while on the phone. By doing this, an hour on the phone turns into an hours walk every day!

Cleaning! The word makes most of us sigh but it can be a great way to stay active. An hour of hovering for example uses twice as many calories as an hour of walking. Do a little bit a few times a day, combined with keeping on top of the dusting and the mountain of shoes in the wardrobe and you’ll keep those calories cycling in the right direction. Turn your stereo up, open the windows, and picture yourself as the latest star of modelling, or perhaps like Mrs Doubtfire, as you get on top of the house.

Models Direct Eyeliner Tips

Models Direct Eyeliner Tips

Getting the most from your modelling eyeliner!

Models Direct

A professional eyeliner can liven your eyes and look absolutely stunning, readying you for a big day photo shoot or an exclusive party. No matter if your outfit, lipgloss and blush are perfect, bad eyeliner will ruin your look. That’s why it’s so important that you put that little bit of extra effort in when doing your eyeliner. Don’t worry if you’re not all that good at it or don’t have a steady hand, like everything eyeliner is all about practice. To get you started, here are some tips that Models Direct love.

Make it Thick
This trick really does make your eyes stand out while allowing them to be mysterious too. It also really accentuates your mascara so your lashes look lovely and long.

Smudge it
Apply your usual coat of eyeliner and smudge it around the edges. It creates a daring and bold look which is completely effortless but looks fabulous all the same, a favourite with today's teen models.

Use Colour
You wouldn’t believe all the colours eyeliner comes in now, there are countless ones to choose from. You can even match them to your clothes or an accessory you’re wearing. It’s time to start experimenting!

Models Direct Reviews

Welcome to Models Direct

Models Direct is one of the longest established talent management companies in the UK. With over 10 years experience in the modelling industry, Models Direct has the expertise to get the right modelling jobs for you, whether male modelling, female modelling or child modelling.  Here are two reviews by our male and female modelling clients in their own words. Enjoy!

Andrew

The two day shoot with Latham Trust was a great experience.  Myself and the other models posed as a family on holiday at a caravan park and, despite a cold first day, it was really fun.  I have done some similar work in the past and this was a good confidence booster to help me back into it and has certainly encouraged me to stay on top of my profile to gain more assignments like this.  Talent Management made it easy in terms of organising and sourcing the work, so I just turned up and got stuck in. The best part of the assignment was the shots of our 'family' on bikes - I could have done that all day!  The children and women there with me had not done any work of this kind beforehand and clearly enjoyed the experience too. I am very glad that I got involved!

Molly

Hi all,

Feedback for Facebook and Google Places (Feel Agency for Inspire Homes - £200):

My assignment on Monday afternoon was pleasing - it was a photo shoot in a lovely house with nice decoration inside and a great view.  I was working with other models, who were very friendly.  Myself and the other models had a friendly chat during the photo shoot, while we were waiting to be photographed. The assignment was organised by Feel Agency and I found them to be very kind and helpful.  The photographer was so funny and did his best to keep the environment warm and friendly. Overall, I had great time - I really enjoyed the assignment and made new friends. Thank you Models Direct.
